Conflict clearance

Blue Mountain Private Investigators is a separate for-profit investigative practice. Its founder also established and continues separate work through Valor Investigations, a nonprofit focused on education, public information, and volunteer assistance. The entities are separate, but the investigator cannot disregard knowledge or obligations acquired through either one. Before substantive case information or files are accepted, Blue Mountain Private Investigators must screen the parties, counsel, witnesses, organizations, providers or facilities, agencies, and subject matter. An overlap with past or current work may require declining the matter or, if discovered later, ending the engagement.

Pro bono services for victims and counsel

In limited matters, inability to pay does not have to end the inquiry.

People affected by elder abuse or exploitation, care-facility harm, wrongful death, or related public-accountability failures may request a limited pro bono engagement when they cannot afford investigative services. Attorneys representing victims in those matters pro bono may request reduced-fee or fully pro bono support. Each request is evaluated for conflicts, case fit, urgency, available evidence, defined scope, safety, and current capacity. Acceptance is discretionary and not guaranteed. Any unavoidable third-party expenses will be discussed before work begins.
